About The Position

Americare Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to support residents’ physical and emotional well-being in a warm, home-like memory care environment. The attendant provides hands-on assistance with activities of daily living while supporting residents’ emotional well-being and quality of life. The role is part of an interdisciplinary care team and upholds Americare’s standards, values, and commitment to resident-centered care. The position may also be known as Personal Care Attendant (PCA), Caregiver, Resident Care Assistant, or Personal Support Aide. The position is at Westbrook Terrace Memory Care I in Jefferson City, Missouri. Available shifts are days and nights, and the posting lists full-time, part-time, and PRN employment. The work takes place indoors in a senior living environment designed for comfort, safety, and engagement; duties may include accompanying residents to supervised indoor or outdoor activities.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Friendly, patient, and positive attitude.
Strong listening and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to resident comfort and safety.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed.
Ability to push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance.
Ability to maneuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.

Nice To Haves

CPR and BLS certifications are a plus; training is available.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
Provide compassionate physical and emotional support while preserving resident dignity.
Monitor resident safety and observe for signs of distress or changes in condition.
Accurately document resident care, activities, and changes as required.
Communicate resident needs effectively to nursing staff and fellow caregivers.
Engage residents in activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
Support a clean, safe, and welcoming living environment.
