About The Position

Walnut Ridge Assisted Living is seeking Personal Care Aides and Resident Care Aides to provide outstanding resident care and daily physical support in residents’ homes. The caregiver provides compassionate assistance with activities of daily living and responds to residents’ emotional and physical needs. This is a PRN opportunity. Walnut Ridge offers access to Tapcheck, a mobile app that allows team members to access earned wages instantly.

Requirements

• Passion for the senior population.
• High school diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to think and work independently with direction from a team leader or manager while maintaining efficient and consistent communication.
• Excellent oral communication skills when speaking with other health professionals in residents’ presence, including bedside manner.
• Ability to endure high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive working relationship with residents, family members, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with daily living activities, including turning and ambulating residents and delivering food and beverages.
• Help residents with personal hygiene, including providing bedpans and assisting with bathing.
• Provide adjunct patient care as needed, such as delivering ice packs and dressings or providing soothing baths after therapy.
• Monitor and record food intake and urinary and fecal output for medical and nursing staff.
• Process information from other professionals and work with physicians, caregivers, and nurses.
• Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures.
• Report safety violations.
