About The Position

Walnut Ridge Assisted Living is seeking Personal Care Aides and Resident Care Aides to provide daily resident care and physical support in an assisted-living home. The role involves compassionate assistance with activities of daily living and responding to residents’ emotional and physical needs. This is a PRN opportunity. Team members can use Tapcheck, a mobile app that provides access to earned wages before payday.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to think and work independently with direction from a team leader or manager, while maintaining efficient and consistent communication.
Excellent oral communication skills when speaking with other health professionals in residents’ presence.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Nice To Haves

Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.
Passion for the senior population.

Responsibilities

Maintain positive working relationships with residents, family members, and staff.
Protect residents’ confidential information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Assist with daily living activities, including turning and ambulating residents and delivering food and beverages.
Help residents with personal hygiene, including using bedpans and bathing.
Provide adjunct patient care as needed, such as delivering ice packs and dressings.
Monitor and record food intake and urinary and fecal output for medical and nursing staff.
Process information from other professionals and work with physicians, caregivers, and nurses.
Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
Follow fire and emergency procedures and report safety violations.
