About The Position

The Permit & Compliance Technician supports permitting, regulatory compliance, and project coordination activities for underground storage tank (UST) construction, maintenance, and compliance projects. This position works closely with Project Managers, field personnel, and regulatory agencies to help maintain project flow, ensure compliance with agency requirements, and support client operational compliance programs. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professional communication, and the ability to manage multiple active projects and deadlines simultaneously. Position is based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and requires working in-office five (5) days per week.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Must be able to meet company’s employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, background check, and MVR, if driving for the company.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of 10 pounds.
  • Visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
  • Subject to sitting, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with permitting, construction coordination, or regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Familiarity with California UST regulations and fueling systems preferred.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Smartsheet, or similar project tracking software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications for construction, repair, and maintenance work.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies including CUPA, Fire, Building, Air Quality, and related departments.
  • Track permit application status, plan check comments, inspections, and resubmittals.
  • Prepare permit packages including drawings, cutsheets, certifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers regarding permit requirements, timelines, and project status.
  • Schedule inspections and communicate with inspectors and agency representatives.
  • Process permit fees and internal check requests.
  • Maintain organized project files and accurate permit tracking logs.
  • Support client compliance programs including CERS-related activities.
  • Assist with alarm management, NOV resolution, operational paperwork, and compliance tracking.
  • Coordinate and maintain regulatory documentation and reporting records.
  • Support operator training documentation and related compliance requirements.
