About The Position

KidsPeace is a private charity supporting the behavioral and mental health needs of children, families, and communities. The organization provides psychiatric hospital services, residential treatment programs, accredited educational services, and foster care programs. The Permanency Specialist works directly with children and families to help them achieve lifelong connections, including adoption, and supports long-term permanency goals. The role involves completing services referred by the Statewide Adoption Network, partnering with youth, families, and stakeholders, and maintaining accurate documentation in keeping with KidsPeace values of compassion, integrity, and professionalism.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license and registered vehicle.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of experience in the child welfare system (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Meet with children and families to complete services referred by the Statewide Adoption Network, including child profiles, family profiles, child preparation, child-specific recruitment, and adoption finalization.
• Partner with youth, families, and stakeholders to support long-term permanency goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold KidsPeace values of compassion, integrity, and professionalism.
