About The Position

The Performance Fitter conducts Callaway Golf and Odyssey product fitting events, creates a positive customer experience, and builds enthusiasm for the company’s products. The role may be performed alongside an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) or independently as directed by the OSR. The fitter educates consumers about product features, advantages, and benefits, conducts fittings using Callaway’s protocols and tools, and sets up and takes down event displays and equipment. This is a part-time, seasonal position with a varied schedule. The employee must be available for scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season in the assigned territory. A typical event lasts 5–6 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. The role involves frequent travel within the territory, occasional travel to surrounding territories, and occasional travel outside the territory for events and trade shows. Work is primarily outdoors. Pay is listed as $16.50–$18.50 per hour; the posting also lists an hourly range of $16.50–$20.00.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be able to learn company product characteristics, distinguish product features and benefits, and understand fitting concepts.
Must be able to present the Callaway product line fully.
Strong communication skills to present technical ideas and facts to diverse consumers and customers in a manner consistent with Callaway standards.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to positively influence situations and people.
Demonstrated leadership and professionalism.
Valid driver’s license and proper insurance for the resident state.
Driving record must meet the company’s authorized-driver criteria.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, typically product and equipment.
Must be available to work scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season in the assigned territory.
Frequent travel within the territory and occasional travel to surrounding territories are required; occasional travel outside the territory to events and trade shows may be required.

Nice To Haves

Golf knowledge, golf club fitting knowledge, and experience using a launch monitor.
Understanding of the retail golf business, including green grass or off-course retail.
Knowledge of past Callaway products.
Geographic knowledge of the territory.
One year of successful retail or golf shop selling experience.
Golf club fitting experience.
A vehicle large enough to carry 15–20 golf bags and display tents; an SUV or minivan is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the goals of customer events and deliver an outstanding consumer experience.
Set up and take down displays and equipment, following Callaway’s product-fitting protocols and event setup standards.
Ensure fitting carts, tents, wind blades, and table skirts are present, presentable, and up to date at each event.
Inventory and update the Fit Cart.
Communicate the advantages of the full line of Callaway Golf products to consumers.
Conduct customer fittings using Callaway’s fitting protocol, a launch monitor, and other provided tools.
Run and train on the Odyssey Fits Tool and apply selling techniques.
Provide personalized product specifications to consumers.
Communicate accomplishments and challenges to the OSR and share and solicit lessons learned from each event.
Educate consumers about Callaway Golf and Odyssey product features, advantages, and benefits at customer-sponsored events.
