About The Position

The Performance Fitter conducts product fitting events and provides customers with a positive, start-to-finish experience while building enthusiasm for Callaway Golf and Odyssey products. The role includes setting up and taking down marketing and product displays, educating consumers about product features and benefits, and conducting fittings using Callaway’s protocols and provided tools. The fitter may work alongside an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) or independently as directed by the OSR.

This is a part-time, seasonal position with a varied schedule. The fitter must be available for scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season in the assigned territory. Typical event days last 5–6 hours and take place on Saturdays or Sundays. Frequent travel within the territory, occasional travel to surrounding territories, and occasional travel to events and trade shows outside the territory are required. The position primarily involves working outdoors. Pay is listed as $16.50–$18.50 per hour; another pay listing states $16.50–$18.25–$20.00 hourly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to learn company product characteristics, distinguish product features and benefits, and understand fitting concepts.
• Able to present technical ideas and facts to a diverse audience of consumers and customers.
• Present information in a manner consistent with Callaway standards.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence situations and people positively.
• Demonstrated leadership and professionalism.
• Valid driver’s license and proper insurance for the resident state; driving record must meet company authorized-driver criteria.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Availability to work scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season in the assigned territory.
• Ability to travel frequently within the territory, occasionally to surrounding territories, and occasionally outside the territory to events and trade shows.

Nice To Haves

• Golf knowledge, golf club fitting knowledge, and experience using a launch monitor.
• Understanding of the retail golf business, including green grass or off-course retail.
• Knowledge of past Callaway products.
• Geographic knowledge of the territory.
• One year of successful retail or golf shop selling experience.
• Golf club fitting experience.
• A vehicle large enough to carry 15–20 golf bags and display tents; an SUV or minivan is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the goals of customer events and deliver an outstanding consumer experience.
• Set up and take down displays and equipment, following Callaway’s product-fitting setup protocols.
• Ensure fitting carts, tents, wind blades, and table skirts are present, presentable, and up to date at each event.
• Inventory and update the Fit Cart.
• Communicate the advantages of the full line of Callaway Golf products to consumers.
• Conduct customer fittings using Callaway’s fitting protocol, a launch monitor, and other provided tools.
• Run and train on the Odyssey Fits Tool and apply selling techniques.
• Provide consumers with personalized product specifications.
• Communicate event accomplishments and challenges to the OSR and share and solicit lessons learned.
