About The Position

The Performance Fitter conducts Callaway Golf and Odyssey product fitting events, provides a positive customer experience from start to finish, and builds enthusiasm for the company’s products. The role includes setting up and taking down marketing and product displays at customer-sponsored events. The fitter may work alongside an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) or independently as directed by the OSR, and educates consumers about product features, advantages, and benefits.

This is a part-time, seasonal position with a varied schedule. The fitter must be available for scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season in the assigned territory. Typical events last 5–6 hours and are held on Saturdays or Sundays. Frequent travel within the territory, occasional travel to surrounding territories, and occasional travel to events and trade shows outside the territory are required. Pay is listed as $16.50–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to learn product characteristics and distinguish product features, benefits, and fitting concepts.
• Ability to present technical ideas and facts to a diverse audience of consumers and customers.
• Present information in a manner consistent with Callaway standards.
• Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence situations and people positively.
• Demonstrated leadership and professionalism.
• Valid driver’s license and proper insurance for the resident state; driving record must meet company authorized-driver criteria.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to travel frequently within the territory, occasionally to surrounding territories, and occasionally to events and trade shows outside the territory.
• Availability for scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season.

Nice To Haves

• Golf knowledge, golf club fitting knowledge, and experience using a launch monitor.
• Understanding of the retail golf business, including green-grass or off-course retail.
• Knowledge of past Callaway products.
• Geographic knowledge of the territory.
• One year of successful retail or golf-shop selling experience.
• Golf club fitting experience.
• A vehicle large enough to carry 15–20 golf bags and display tents; an SUV or minivan is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support customer event goals and deliver an outstanding consumer experience.
• Set up and take down displays and equipment in accordance with Callaway’s product-fitting protocol.
• Ensure fitting carts, tents, wind blades, and table skirts are present, presentable, and up to date at each event.
• Inventory and update the Fit Cart.
• Communicate the advantages of the full line of Callaway Golf products to consumers.
• Conduct customer fittings using Callaway’s fitting protocol, a launch monitor, and other provided tools.
• Operate and train others on the Odyssey Fits Tool and apply selling techniques.
• Provide consumers with personalized product specifications.
• Communicate accomplishments and challenges with the OSR and share and solicit lessons learned from each event.
