About The Position

BCI is seeking a Performance & Analytics Co-op student/Intern for the Fall 2026 work term (September to December) to provide timely, accurate and high-quality investment performance & analytics reporting and analysis to various stakeholder groups. BCI manages a globally diversified portfolio of gross assets valued at $295 billion and is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors. The Co-op/Intern will work in the Performance & Analytics team within BCI’s Finance department, learning and applying knowledge to support the measurement and analysis of investment performance across a wide range of public & private market strategies. The Finance department is responsible for financial administration, financial reporting and tax planning for BCI and the investment funds under BCI's administration. The Performance & Analytics branch is tasked with calculating, benchmarking, attributing and reporting of investment performance results for all asset classes, strategies and clients. Performance reports and analyses are used to help client trustees perform their fiduciary duty in oversight of BCI’s investment management, to assist management in understanding the drivers of return and evaluating the success of strategies and initiatives, and more importantly to provide the feedback loop to support investment decision making. Two Co-op/Intern positions are available for Fall 2026 work term (September-December), working with a Manager of Asset Class Performance.

Requirements

  • Fundamental knowledge of basic business and investment-related disciplines is essential.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • High level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, excellent product quality, and attention to detail.
  • Interest in investment management, dedication to hard work, commitment to the highest ethical standards, and an eagerness to learn.
  • Strong research skills combined with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to use MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the job is located.
  • Must not have work permit, study permit, or visa restrictions or expirations during the work term.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Python, SQL, VBA, Bloomberg & Power BI is desirable.
  • Experience with AI tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various projects, performance reporting, and daily & monthly tasks under the supervision of the Performance & Analytics branch.
  • Collect, organize and analyze performance data to support the team’s deliverables.
  • Automate and enhance existing processes, recommend innovative solutions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Assist with weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to visualize the performance results and communicate compelling messages behind the numbers.
  • Participate in cross functional initiatives and interact with other groups as appropriate.
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the team.
