About The Position

BCI is seeking a Private Equity Analytics Co-op Student/Intern for Fall 2026 (September to December) work term to support their team. This role is for a highly motivated, team player who can handle multiple projects and is interested in developing their professional career and learning more about driving sustainable growth, accelerating innovation and operating on a global scale. BCI manages a globally diversified portfolio of gross assets valued at $295 billion and is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors. Requirements

  • Fundamental knowledge of computer science, with emphasis on recent experience with ML and AI.
  • Working understanding of finance, business and investment-related disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • High level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship-building ability, proactiveness, results oriented, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Private Equity Analytics team in driving investment decision-making and providing valuable insights on private equity portfolio companies and funds.
  • Ensure timely analysis and reporting is available to support and challenge investment decisions.
  • Help drive continuous improvement in portfolio monitoring and analytics processes, leveraging technology, AI and best practices.
  • Test existing AI tools on emerging business cases.
  • Identify opportunities to utilize the existing data stack.
  • Connect insights from highly confidential unstructured data with existing enterprise data platform outputs.
  • Assist with analyzing sources of return within the portfolio, identifying key drivers of value and areas for return enhancement and risk mitigation.
  • Assist with monitoring portfolio and fund performance against relevant benchmarks, highlighting areas of outperformance and underperformance, and recommending actions to enhance returns.
  • Provide real-time insights into assets that may be appropriate to sell and where to access liquidity through advanced analytics and a deep understanding of the technology.
