About The Position

A very well-funded energy company is scaling from R&D into construction and manufacturing across Los Angeles and other sites. The company is seeking a senior, hands-on people operations leader to handle sensitive employee relations issues and build the people operations function as headcount grows. Mural Group is recruiting for this role on behalf of a client.

Requirements

Several years of experience as an HR generalist, HRBP, or people operations leader, with deep employee relations experience.
Experience with California employment law and multi-state compliance.
Experience building or rebuilding people operations at a fast-growing company.
Calm, direct judgment in sensitive situations.
Willingness to work onsite with the team, including weekends.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting manufacturing or hourly workforces.
Experience helping open a new site.

Responsibilities

Own employee relations, including investigations, performance concerns, policy questions, and difficult conversations.
Advise managers and leadership on people decisions.
Build core people operations, including policies, the employee handbook, and compliance practices.
Maintain compliance with California employment requirements and requirements in other states as sites grow.
Work with the people systems team on HRIS and process automation.
Partner with site people leads as new locations grow.
