People Experience Partner
About The Position
Waymo is hiring a People Experience Partner to support its People team and help employees reach their full potential in a healthy, considerate, and supportive environment. In this hybrid role, the People Experience Partner reports to a People Business Partner and serves as a senior HR partner for critical manager populations. The role focuses on addressing systemic people issues, enabling major People initiatives, coaching managers through challenging situations, handling sensitive escalations, and sharing insights about culture and employee sentiment with senior leaders and People Business Partners.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or Business Partnering.
- Deep experience coaching managers through complex people challenges, including performance management and employee relations.
- Strong operational excellence and a track record of leading complex cycles, such as performance and compensation cycles, with high attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset and ability to interpret survey data and sentiment analysis to identify trends and risks.
- Ability to build trust quickly with managers and employees across all levels of the organization.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a high-growth technology environment.
- Certification in coaching or mediation.
Responsibilities
- Identify root causes of issues and develop programs or tailored solutions that address them permanently rather than resolving individual tickets.
- Lead rollout of initiatives such as ACED Performance Reviews and Compensation Planning, ensuring rigor, accuracy, and consistency.
- Coach experienced managers through difficult conversations, performance-management challenges, and team development.
- Serve as the senior HR contact and primary escalation point for sensitive issues and high-stakes relationship management with critical manager populations.
- Share insights about workplace culture and employee sentiment with senior leaders and People Business Partners to inform broader strategy.
