About The Position

The Senior People Business Partner is a critical role on the People team, acting as a bridge between the business and People strategy. This role is a proactive, strategic thought partner for business leaders, helping them build strong teams. The position requires deep knowledge of assigned business units, including their goals, challenges, and people, to ensure optimal performance. The role operates in a dynamic, evolving environment where building and improving systems and processes is key. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Pleasanton, CA.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4-6 years of HRBP or People Business Partner experience, preferably in a fast-growth SaaS or technology company.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisory relationships with senior and C-suite leaders.
  • Ability to learn a business quickly, connect People initiatives to business outcomes, and speak the language of the leaders supported.
  • Sound judgment and experience handling complex employee relations situations with care, consistency, and appropriate urgency.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—clear, direct, and compelling across audiences.
  • Comfortable managing a broad portfolio of priorities in a fast-moving environment without losing precision or follow-through.
  • Able to absorb feedback, adapt quickly, and maintain composure and positivity when things don't go as planned.

Responsibilities

  • Build deep, trusted, long-term relationships with business unit leaders and their teams, serving as a thought partner on organizational health, talent strategy, and team effectiveness.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of client groups' business models, goals, and pressures to anticipate needs, shape proactive people strategies, and link People initiatives to business outcomes.
  • Partner with leaders to build high-performing, engaged teams by driving org design, succession planning, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Navigate complex employee relations situations with sound judgment, empathy, and legal awareness, providing guidance that protects both the business and the individual.
  • Champion people-related transformation initiatives, communicating change clearly, building alignment, and helping leaders guide their teams through transitions.
  • Actively contribute to the strength, culture, and continuous improvement of the People team by sharing knowledge, collaborating across COEs, and championing the function.
  • Drive the end-to-end execution of People programs across client groups, including performance cycles, engagement actions, and compensation planning.
  • Identify gaps, design solutions, and build People infrastructure where it doesn't exist, improving client groups and the People team.
  • Apply advanced analytical skills and People knowledge to diagnose business needs, recommend strategic solutions, and navigate complex people-related challenges.
  • Stay current on emerging HR trends, tools, and best practices, seeking new ways to improve operations and add value.
