About The Position

This role is for 2026 interns who worked in a role this summer. New NET roles will open in September. The Penetration Testing Engineer II role requires a strong understanding of security principles, frameworks, methodologies, and controls. You will be responsible for performing security testing, analyzing issues with security controls, and documenting findings. The role also involves assisting in the design of secure solutions, maintaining network performance logs, and analyzing requirements. You will work as part of a design team to outline network infrastructure components and systems, ensuring adherence to security and compliance norms. The position emphasizes collaboration, integrity, customer focus, and continuous improvement, aligning with Walmart's values and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area.
  • 3 years’ experience in penetration testing or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Security+, Network+, GISF, or GSEC
  • Knowledge of creating inclusive digital experiences

Responsibilities

  • Follows defined security testing processes and procedures
  • Performs basic security testing utilizing preconfigured tools and scripts
  • Assists in the review and analysis of issues with security controls and identified vulnerabilities
  • Applies security severity ratings with guidance
  • Documents security findings in workflow reporting tools
  • Builds knowledge of security testing tools
  • Assists in the design of solutions so security processes/applications work in tandem for specific components/modules of a product/system
  • Evaluates tradeoffs while designing components based on business requirements
  • Supports the conversion of HLD (High Level Design) to create detailed design for specific modules/components of a product/system
  • Adheres to security/compliance norms and frameworks while creating design for specific modules/components of a product system or platform
  • Maintains updated logs and documentation of day-to-day levels of network performance
  • Monitors current performance data to ensure adherence to defined SLOs for simple network applications/systems
  • Understands the different types of alerts generated by monitoring tools
  • Understands the business stakeholder or technical requirements and assists in analyzing existing solutions to address needs in case of agile methodology for the iteration
  • Prepares the requirement traceability matrix and maintains traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, and design and test cases
  • Contributes to the creation of user stories for component/modules/simple requirements (for example, based on scalability)
  • Assist as part of a design team outlines parts of larger network infrastructure components and systems
  • Demonstrates uptodate expertise and applies this to the development, execution and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices, supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs, and building commitment for perspectives and rationales
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities
