About The Position

The Peer Recovery Support Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of Peer Recovery Supporters. This role involves ensuring effective client service delivery, maintaining facility standards, and managing staff performance and development. The supervisor will also provide direct client services as needed and act as a liaison with external agencies and proceedings.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have OMHAS Peer Recovery Supporter certification and experience delivering peer services in behavioral health over a cumulative period of two years OR be a clinician with one of the following licenses: LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, LCDCII, LCDCIII, LICDC, or LMFT.
  • Must maintain certification in good standing.
  • Familiarity with confidentiality regulations governing the disclosure of client information and the storage of client records.
  • Familiarity with appropriate professional codes of ethics.
  • Must possess valid Ohio driver’s license and a driving record that does not preclude the employee from being covered by Agency liability insurance.
  • Must have the cognitive skills needed to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem solving, and comprehending.
  • Has the ability to perform under stress and/or in emergencies.
  • Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively orient, train, and monitor supervised employees in job duties.
  • Process payroll and handle time card issues for supervised employees.
  • Monitor overtime requests while ensuring staff coverage, potentially covering staff absences.
  • Request advance approval for overtime exceeding established hours.
  • Conduct effective and timely performance evaluations and process paperwork for supervised employees.
  • Address disciplinary issues with supervised employees, documenting and processing actions in accordance with policies.
  • Conduct and coordinate on-the-job training for new employees using agency resources.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate safety training for new and transferred employees.
  • Ensure supervised employees meet minimum training requirements and monitor training attendance and schedules.
  • Ensure facility is appropriately staffed and clients are accounted for; assist in maintaining and posting the Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) schedule.
  • Secure shift coverage for PRS staff as necessary.
  • Ensure facility walkthroughs/sanitation inspections are completed weekly and conduct unannounced inspections.
  • Conduct frequent rounds of the facility, checking for unsafe conditions, cleanliness, alcohol or illicit substances, and document/correct issues.
  • Assist with the preparation of facility audits and ensure the facility is audit ready.
  • Ensure the quality of audit documentation collected by supervised staff is acceptable.
  • Complete monthly reports and forward to supervisor.
  • Enter data into CCIS in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review and approve PRS documentation in Carelogic for form, content, legibility, timeliness, and file security.
  • Comply with documentation requirements for activities and reports.
  • Review and ensure accuracy and thoroughness of PRS documentation (e.g., logs, shift reports, incident reports).
  • Provide direct client service as directed.
  • Maintain Community Resource Center on site.
  • Report Major Unusual Incidents as required.
  • Field client complaints and work to resolve them efficiently.
  • Document resolution process for client complaints.
  • Act as a representative of the Agency at court and community proceedings.
  • Attend and participate in community meetings.
  • Manage time and organize work demands appropriately.
  • Post, assign, and ensure completion of activities for PRS staff, including intakes, alco-sensor tests, and urine drug screens.
