As part of its ongoing efforts to expand clinical services, educational programs, and scholarly activities, the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Internal Medicine at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama are seeking candidates for a faculty position in Pediatric Pulmonology with an interest in Sleep Medicine. Responsibilities include providing patient care at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, the primary referral center for the region, and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates must have completed fellowship training in Pediatric Pulmonology and be board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Pulmonology. While the primary focus of this position is Pediatric Pulmonology, candidates with experience or interest in Sleep Medicine are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to caring for children with a broad range of pulmonary disorders. Responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient clinical care, performance of pulmonary-related procedures, teaching learners at multiple levels, and participation in basic, clinical, and/or translational research. Unique opportunities for program development, clinical research, and scholarly collaboration with regional and state partners are also available. Academic rank and appointment level are open and will be commensurate with the candidate’s training, experience, and academic accomplishments.
