Requirements

  • Current credentialing in sleep technology (RPSGT / or RRT-SDS) required.
  • Possess ability to interpret, adapt and apply required guidelines and protocols for adult and pediatric patients required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
  • HealthCare CPR preferred and must be successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provides independent comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.
  • Performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care, and direct patient education.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and verifies patient’s records, medical history, and orders.
  • Accurately documents according to department protocol.
  • Incorporates population specific needs into all aspects of communication, patient care and education.
  • Accurately performs Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) and Polysomnography (PSG) according to department procedure and protocols.
  • Performs routine equipment care, maintenance, and inventory evaluations accurately, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, industry standards and Logan Health policies and procedures, regarding standard of care, safety, and infection control.
  • Exhibits strong clinical skills, judgment, and problem-solving within the scope of practice.
  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks per department procedure and protocol.
  • Mentors and coaches staff technologists on protocol and policy.
  • Tracks all patients as a requirement of the AASM QA program.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues per department protocol.
  • Scores sleep studies per department procedure.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
