About The Position
BrightStar Care is building a resource pool of dependable Pediatric Hospital Sitters for potential assignments in Amarillo, Texas. This PRN, as-needed role provides continuous bedside observation and support for pediatric patients. Assignments depend on staffing needs and availability, and joining the resource pool does not guarantee assignments or hours. Pay is $13–$15 per hour for assigned shifts, with weekly pay.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience caring for children.
- Experience in healthcare, childcare, education, behavioral health, or a related field.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout extended shifts.
- Successful completion of required background checks and onboarding.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous bedside observation for pediatric patients.
- Monitor patient activity and promptly report concerns to nursing staff.
- Offer age-appropriate companionship, reassurance, and redirection.
- Follow hospital safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
- Document observations as required.
