About The Position

Axcess is hiring Registered Nurses to provide in-home care to children with special needs and disabilities across South Carolina. The role supports children who qualify for aide services through Community Long Term Care and the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. The schedule is flexible, and the listed location is Newberry.

Care needs vary by child and may include medication administration, catheter care, tracheostomy care, wound care, ventilator care, assistance with activities of daily living, and accompanying parents to appointments and therapies. The RN may also assist with light housekeeping and laundry to support the child and the parents or guardians.

Axcess offers telephone assistance from 8 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week. The posting also describes weekly direct-deposit pay, paid training, electronic time management, and in-person appointments once a year for education and annual requirements. Insurance benefits are available after the probationary period for employees working more than 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Active RN license to practice in South Carolina.
• One year of clinical experience.
• Annual TB testing; Axcess covers the cost if the test is expired.
• Current CPR certification; Axcess can direct applicants to training sites if certification is expired.
• Pass a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) background check.
• Pass a drug test.
• Be physically able to provide care to a child with special needs.
• Valid driver's license and insured transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to children with special needs and disabilities in their homes.
• Administer medications and provide catheter, tracheostomy, wound, and ventilator care as needed.
• Assist children with activities of daily living.
• Accompany parents and children to appointments and therapies when needed.
• Assist with light housekeeping and laundry as needed.
• Complete annual education and other annual requirements.
