About The Position

The PCA/CNA provides individualized personal care to residents at The Terraces, following residents’ service plans, nursing instructions, and established care procedures. The role supports residents’ comfort, independence, dignity, privacy, and well-being, while helping create a safe, welcoming, and supportive home. The position is located at Immanuel Living at Buffalo Hill in Kalispell, Montana, and is PRN. Immanuel Living is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community serving 300 older adults in independent villa apartments, assisted living, memory support, post-acute rehabilitation, and long-term care residences. It offers resort-style amenities, healthy lifestyle options, and a faith-based environment, and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

Requirements

Two years of experience working with older adults or individuals requiring personal care assistance.
Ability to follow resident service plans, nursing instructions, and established care procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and coworkers.
Willingness to learn and participate in required training.
Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
Ability to assist residents with mobility and safely operate designated care equipment, including resident lifts.
Ability to perform physical duties associated with resident care, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and assisting residents.
Flexibility to work assigned schedules, including varying days or hours based on department needs.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, individualized personal care according to residents’ service plans and nursing instructions.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, personal care, and dining services.
Help residents travel safely to and from meals, activities, and community events.
Respond promptly to resident pendant alarms, emergency call buttons, and requests for assistance.
Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff.
Support residents’ independence, dignity, privacy, and personal preferences.
Accurately document resident care and daily activities according to established procedures.
Communicate resident information and updates to incoming staff during shift changes.
Report concerns or changes in residents’ health and well-being to nursing staff in a timely manner.
Maintain confidentiality of resident and organizational information.
Communicate respectfully and professionally with residents, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.
Follow infection prevention, safety, and resident care procedures.
Collaborate with nursing staff and other departments to provide quality resident care.
Participate in required training, educational programs, and team meetings.
Promote a positive, respectful, and supportive work environment.
Assist with other resident care and departmental responsibilities as assigned.
