About The Position
The PBX Operator / Receptionist answers the switchboard and overhead pages, greets people, and directs them to the appropriate departments. The operator monitors hospital alarms and must know the policies and procedures for hospital emergency codes. The role requires the ability to communicate with the population served. Desert Valley Hospital is an accredited 148-bed acute care hospital in Southern California and a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation. It provides services including heart care, emergency services, labor and delivery, and surgical services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required for new hires effective 4/1/14.
- Previous experience in an office or receptionist role.
- Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous PBX experience.
- Customer service experience.
