About The Position

The P. B. X. Operator uses communication skills to serve the public, hospital staff, and physicians, and must interact with the public in a caring and reassuring manner. The Operator receives incoming hospital calls and directs them quickly and accurately to the appropriate area. The position requires full knowledge of job responsibilities described in the training manual.

The Operator works 72/80 per pay period in eight-hour shifts, with weekend rotation required. The role also assists with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to the unit. The Operator is expected to work professionally and non-defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors, complete assigned yearly mandatory education in HealthStream, and perform duties assigned by the manager or Director.

• Availability to work eight-hour shifts totaling 72/80 per pay period, with rotating weekends required.
