About The Position

Dewey Dodge, a Ken Garff Automotive company, is seeking a Payroll Representative to support its accounting team by processing payroll functions for the dealership(s). The position is based in the Centralized Accounting Office in Clive, Iowa, and follows a Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. schedule. Requirements

At least 1-2 years of payroll experience.
High school diploma or equivalent, with an associate’s degree in accounting or two years of commensurate dealership accounting experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and general use of a computer and calculator.
Strong numeracy, analytical, time management, verbal, and technology skills.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.

Nice To Haves

Dealership accounting experience preferred.
Knowledge of accounting software and dealership software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collect employee insurance premiums through payroll in a timely manner.
Reconcile benefit invoices monthly.
Enter new employees into the payroll system and terminate exiting employees.
Maintain absence reports and employee receivables reports.
Issue manual or void checks as needed.
Complete ad hoc reports for Corporate as needed.
Process and reconcile payroll on a bi-monthly schedule.
Ensure payroll deductions are correct.
Electronically file taxes each payday within required time restrictions.
Post EFT transfers into accounting.
Reconcile payroll bank accounts monthly.
Create monthly, quarterly, yearly, and miscellaneous payroll reports and pay items as needed.
Perform occasional filing and other general administrative duties as needed.
