We're looking for a Payroll & HR Generalist to join our amazing team! Specifically, we are looking for someone passionate about all aspects of Payroll and HR who thrives on change and variety. Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • PCP designation required; candidates actively working toward the designation will also be considered
  • 1+ years full-cycle payroll experience
  • 3+ years of HR generalist experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Phenomenal attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to give and receive feedback
  • Willingness to learn new technology and systems
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel from site to site, as necessary

Nice To Haves

  • CPHR designation, or interest in pursuing the designation, is considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including provincial payroll standards.
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and deductions.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees in a timely manner.
  • Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including preparing T4s and other government filings.
  • Ensure accurate remittances to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other government bodies.
  • Create, review and update client policies, handbooks, and other documents to ensure they are compliant with the relevant legislation as well as best practices.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Provide advice on performance and disciplinary issues.
  • Mentor internal HR Coordinators.
  • Assist with the administration and facilitation of terminations and suspensions per client needs.
  • Coordinate employee and/or disability leaves.
  • Administer training sessions and/or seminars.
  • Keep current with existing and proposed laws and regulations affecting HR practices.
  • Assist with specialized projects such as job descriptions, compensation reviews, HR audits, and HRIS implementations.
  • Provide recruitment support.
  • Provide benefits administration support.
  • Initiate strategic planning, reinforce processes, and ensure compliance.
  • Other HR & Administrative tasks, as required.
