The Payroll Coordinator will assist in the processing of biweekly payroll for approximately 650 employees located in eight San Diego facilities.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of all aspects of payroll including taxable and non-taxable compensation, imputed income, pre and post-tax deductions, garnishments, shift premiums, paid-time off accruals, meal penalties, and 403B retirement plans.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and is a self-starter.
  • Commitment to attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent education, training and experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in high volume payroll processing with strong knowledge of payroll regulations.
  • Experience in working with sophisticated HRIS system.
  • Must be able to clear fingerprints through DOJ and FBI in addition to a drug screen clearance.

  • Ceridian Dayforce a plus!
  • Experience with non-profit organizations, senior living facilities, and managed care, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with department managers and supervisors to ensure employees’ timesheets are accurate and approved within strict deadlines.
  • Calculate gross-to-net payroll. Review for accuracy and compliance.
  • Update employee payroll records for voluntary deductions and wage assignments.
  • Prepare onsite final checks for terminated employees.
  • Prepare CA EDD UI benefit audits.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources department to ensure accuracy of all HRIS data.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Generate and extract information from HRIS system for payroll reporting and other payroll related data.
  • Participate in quarter-end and year-end activities including W2 reconciliations.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
