About The Position

We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk with 1–3 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you'll support the accurate and timely processing of employee pay, commission calculations, and payroll-related recordkeeping.

Requirements

1–3 years of payroll or related accounting experience
High school diploma required
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Understanding of basic payroll tax and wage/hour regulations
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in accounting, Business, or related field preferred
Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Heartland, or similar)
FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or working toward certification
Experience with multi-state payroll processing
Familiarity with HRIS systems

Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Enter and verify timekeeping data, including hours worked, overtime, and Vacation
Calculating and process deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments, retirement contributions)
Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee pay inquiries
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files in compliance with company policy
Assist with processing new hires, terminations, and status changes in the payroll system
Support preparation of payroll reports for management and accounting
Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll data
