About The Position

Sun & Ski Sports is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to own payroll processing and support benefits administration for our multi-state retail workforce. This role operates with a high level of autonomy and ownership over payroll processes, while also supporting benefits enrollment and changes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of payroll and/or benefits administration
  • Experience with multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits processes
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP, AS/400, Workday, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively

Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states
  • Ensure accuracy of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
  • Audit timekeeping and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy
  • Partner with managers to ensure timely and accurate submissions
  • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Support open enrollment and qualifying life events
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits
  • Coordinate with external vendors and brokers
  • Ensure accurate payroll deductions related to benefits
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA, wage and hours laws, and multi-state regulations
  • Support payroll audits, reporting, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate records for compliance and internal audit
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, paychecks, taxes, and benefits
  • Resolve discrepancies and escalate complex issues as needed
