About The Position

Sun & Ski Sports is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to own payroll processing and support benefits administration for our multi-state retail workforce. This role operates with a high level of autonomy and ownership over payroll processes, while also supporting benefits enrollment and changes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Requirements

2–5 years of payroll and/or benefits administration
Experience with multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits processes
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP, AS/400, Workday, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively

Responsibilities

Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states
Ensure accuracy of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
Audit timekeeping and resolve discrepancies
Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy
Partner with managers to ensure timely and accurate submissions
Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
Support open enrollment and qualifying life events
Respond to employee questions regarding benefits
Coordinate with external vendors and brokers
Ensure accurate payroll deductions related to benefits
Ensure compliance with FLSA, wage and hours laws, and multi-state regulations
Support payroll audits, reporting, and documentation
Maintain accurate records for compliance and internal audit
Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, paychecks, taxes, and benefits
Resolve discrepancies and escalate complex issues as needed
