About The Position

This role is for a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Administrator (Contractor) responsible for preparing two small bi-weekly payrolls and supporting day-to-day benefits administration. The position requires knowledge of non-exempt payroll compliance, timecard auditing, monthly vendor reconciliations, and experience with Payroll/HRIS systems. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in payroll systems like BambooHR, experienced in supporting a non-exempt workforce, and skilled in Excel and Google Sheets for data analysis and reconciliations. This is a remote contract assignment expected to last 9 to 12 months, based on Eastern Time. Talkspace Headquarters is located in NYC.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of payroll processing experience
  • 1 year experience processing bi-weekly payroll for non-exempt populations
  • 3 years experience applying 401k & Benefit related deductions & updates in HRIS system
  • 3 years Experience performing monthly benefits reconciliations
  • Minimum intermediate level in Excel and Google Sheets
  • High attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Process two small bi-weekly payrolls accurately and on schedule(<60 employees)
  • Process payroll using BambooHR (or similar HRIS/payroll system)
  • Audit and edit timecards for non-exempt employees to ensure compliance with overtime and wage/hour laws
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner via Zendesk
  • Partner with People Ops to process leaves of absence, including payroll calculations and benefit adjustments based on Peoples Ops directions
  • Calculate and apply benefit-related payroll deductions or catch ups, ie QLEs
  • Perform monthly benefit vendor invoice reconciliations between vendor & HRIS system
  • Ensure accuracy between payroll deductions and vendor billing
  • Support audits and reporting for open enrollment and QLEs
  • Apply 401(k) payroll deductions and contribution changes in payroll system
  • Apply 401(k) loans and repayment adjustments in payroll system
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding 401(k) deductions and payroll impacts
