About The Position

The Payroll Assistant is an entry level position primarily responsible for assisting Payroll in processing Records of Employments through PeopleSoft for multiple operating locations.

Requirements

  • Minimum - Secondary School Diploma, and relevant experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of two years recent experience in an office setting combined with intermediate PC experience and strong knowledge of MS office applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment, including communication skills both written and oral.
  • Providing excellent customer service internally as well as externally.
  • Strong sense of organization, attention to detail, time management, and ability to multi-task, to maintain a high level of productivity in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Minimum 30 w.p.m. typing speed required.
  • Comfortable with working daily with Pivot Tables and V Look ups.
  • All new hires must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by Health Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • College/University degree considered an asset.
  • Candidates with PCP Certification in progress would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing Records of Employments in PeopleSoft and sending them to Service Canada
  • Ensure Canadian legislation and Payroll processing standards are met.
  • Administrative duties including Routine and Ad hoc reports, Year-end support, Mail room
  • Other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager or Lead
