Requirements

  • Two to three years of payroll administration experience in a unionized environment
  • Ability to read and interpret multiple collective agreements and determine related payroll requirements
  • Working knowledge of payroll databases
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a demanding environment, where your performance could have an impact on other employees

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing timesheets and producing cheques for a large amount of employees on a weekly basis, including monthly union reports and remit payments for union benefits
  • Process wage increases per union schedules
  • Respond to Government inquiries in a professional manner and produce letters of employment
  • Support other accounting functions in regards to payroll and employee cost allocation, which may include general office duties as required
