Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or undergraduate degree preferred depending on relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in payroll, bookkeeping, or business analytical work in a similar human service agency.
  • Model ADEC’s core values in daily work and interactions, including clients, ADEC team members, stakeholders and the community.
  • Experience working on a personal computer is essential with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work cooperatively with other employees.
  • Knowledge of ADP and Microsoft Office Products or similar programs.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team. Must be able to be flexible as the daily routine can change frequently. Must have good time management and organizational skills as needed to complete required tasks.
  • Adherence to ADEC’s policy for pre-employment and annual criminal background checks. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and proof of insurance.
  • No evidence of illegal drug use or drug abuse. Must have a negative pre-employment or reasonable suspicion drug test result.
  • Proof of freedom from communicable diseases (including tuberculosis).
  • Successful completion of all required training both upon hire and annually as required per ADEC, CARF, and other regulatory agencies. This includes agency training and client specific training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the payroll processing procedures, assuring timeliness and accuracy. Must demonstrate personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of staff, client, and agency information contributing in a team environment.
  • Maintains records on staff benefits, payroll related taxes, deductions and payroll changes. Communicates with staff to assure that deduction withholdings are understood and authorized.
  • Assures that all payroll related obligations are processed and paid on a timely basis.
  • Assist with requests from staff for salary and benefit information as needed.
  • Prepare overtime report.
  • Import expense reimbursements for payment through payroll.
  • Handle all court ordered garnishments, interrogatories and child support orders.
  • Process Representative Payee audits.
  • Process banking deposits.
  • Manage supply ordering for Administrative building and other locations.
  • Provide back up to other Financial Services personnel for processes such as all service billing and account reconciliations.
