About The Position

The Payment Posting and Billing Specialist manages accounts receivable billing and payment collections, insurance claim submission, follow-up, and resolution. The role also assists the department with patient statements, patient calls, grant processes, and other functions. This is not a remote position. The position is designated safety-sensitive; Morton reserves the right to refuse to hire an applicant or terminate an employee in a safety-sensitive position who tests positive for medical marijuana, even with a valid medical marijuana license.

Requirements

• Two to five years of previous medical billing and/or payment posting experience.
• Training and experience with ICD-10 and CPT medical billing codes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft products, such as Word and Excel spreadsheets.
• Ability to use a 10-key by touch.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance claim submission and reimbursement processes.
• Excellent time-management, cognitive reasoning, and workflow solution skills.
• Excellent math, English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in examining documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Knowledge of federal and state privacy regulations, including the Privacy Act and HIPAA privacy and security rules.
• Professional and business-like appearance and demeanor.

Nice To Haves

• Certificate in Medical Billing/Coding and/or an associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Business, or a related field.
• CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, COC, and/or CPB credentials.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
