About The Position

This role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payment requests to Intermountain Health's (IH) suppliers for goods and services. This role ensures that all payment requests are processed in compliance with IH policies and procedures. This role provides excellent customer service and has a thorough understanding of IH’s Accounts Payable (AP) systems, processes, and controls. This temporary Accounts Payable Specialist opportunity (3–4 months) is a chance to step into a meaningful role supporting timely, accurate payments to Intermountain Health’s suppliers. You’ll apply your AP expertise, collaborate with internal teams, and help keep critical financial operations running smoothly during a high-impact period.

Requirements

  • Intermediate-level typing and personal computer skills are required.
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with payables or related experience is preferred.
  • Completion of college-level finance and/or accounting courses is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Solves problems within AP systems and understand AP processes
  • Performs routine, repetitive tasks in recording day-to-day transactions related to payables, reconciliations, systems, and reports.
  • Resolves errors and notifies appropriate personnel to prevent future occurrences.
  • Research routine issues and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Provides excellent customer service to colleagues and customers with timely and professional phone calls, instant messages and emails.
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability by taking responsibility for tasks and exemplifies dependable attendance.
  • Manages a volume of work to meet required deadlines and set department goals.
  • Understands and applies IH’s policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
