About The Position

The Pay Station Clerk supports customers’ dining and checkout experience by operating the register, assisting with orders, and helping maintain a clean, well-stocked environment. The role involves providing friendly customer service in a fast-paced retail store and dining setting, working on a team, and assisting in other store areas as needed. Training is provided; no education or experience is required.

Requirements

Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and complete tasks involving a few concrete variables.
Perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages, and make change accurately.
Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
Communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Work effectively as part of a team.
Complete a pre-employment drug screen successfully.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide prompt, friendly service, making interactions positive.
Operate the cash register accurately and process cash, checks, credit cards, in-store charges, coupons, and discounts.
Count back change, issue receipts, and bag or box merchandise for customers.
Ensure silverware, condiments, and beverage cups are adequately stocked.
Refill and maintain the coffee service area, including cups, utensils, and condiments.
Assist with bussing tables in the Hickory House or Market Grille dining areas and run orders to the dining area as needed.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Answer telephone calls promptly and assist callers.
Work with co-workers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other store areas and complete special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
