About The Position

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Patient Visit Specialist to support patients and guests at the Cancer Center. The role provides patient service and coordination, including personally guiding unfamiliar patients to their destinations and providing a warm hand-off to staff. The specialist works directly with providers to coordinate care for each patient and supports day-to-day office operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in a medical or physician office or comparable healthcare environment.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework in insurance or billing.
• Medical practice education or seminars.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for providers and staff regarding patient scheduling questions and concerns.
• Obtain insurance verification and secure authorizations required for Cancer Center services.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule office and infusion appointments.
• Coordinate port placement with interventional radiology and chemotherapy and direct admissions with providers.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Schedule research patients according to research protocols.
• Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
• Personally guide patients who are unfamiliar with the Cancer Center to their destinations and provide a warm hand-off to staff.
• Work directly with providers to coordinate care for each patient.
