Patient Transporter Part Time Days
About The Position
Patient Transport is an opportunity to begin a career at Baptist Health Louisville while developing interpersonal, professional, and safe patient-handling skills useful in healthcare careers. The role serves nearly every area of the hospital and offers firsthand exposure to nursing and diagnostic fields. Transporters use EPIC transport tracking and patient-movement technology to assist with patient care. Learning and growth opportunities in dispatching, training, and leadership are available. The Transport Team provides service to the hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Day-shift positions start between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.; mid-shift positions start at 3:00 p.m.; and night-shift positions start at 8:30 p.m. Part-time positions are available and require working every third weekend. PRN positions require working every other weekend.
Requirements
- Must complete BCLS within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hospital or transport experience desirable.
Responsibilities
- Transport patients to and from diagnostic testing, room-to-room transfers, discharge, and admission as directed by nursing and ancillary departments.
- Serve patients, visitors, physician offices, ancillary departments, and nursing units.
