About The Position

The Patient Transporter assists and supports all departments by transporting patients to and from units and departments using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds. The role includes ensuring appropriate patient identification, comfort, and safety; caring for and cleaning transport equipment; and coordinating with other transporters and care teams to support smooth transport operations.

Requirements

• Demonstrate a positive demeanor and strong verbal communication skills.
• Be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multitask.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience.
• CPR.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from departments and units using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds.
• Ensure appropriate patient identification and comfort and safety, including assisting with lifting, moving, and positioning patients.
• Provide patient information as needed.
• Care for and clean wheelchairs and stretchers, and initiate appropriate action when repairs are required.
• Check oxygen supplies and replenish or change regulators as necessary.
• Coordinate with other transporters based on patient schedules to support smooth transport operations.
• Communicate patient information to nurses and diagnostic departments as necessary.
