About The Position

Transports patients to their inpatient bed and/or to and from other areas such as admitting, surgery, therapy, or radiology in a safe and timely manner. Retrieves medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications as required. Prioritizes duties to facilitate department flow and maintains and cleans equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of patient safety, basic transportation equipment, and infection control processes.
• Clerical skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and promptly to inpatient beds and to or from admitting, surgery, therapy, radiology, and other areas.
• Retrieve medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications as required.
• Prioritize duties to facilitate department flow.
• Maintain and clean transportation equipment.
• Follow established safety procedures throughout the transportation process.
• Monitor the proper functioning of transportation equipment daily.
