Patient Transporter - PT (7:00am-3:00pm) CMC
About The Position
Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is seeking a part-time Patient Transporter. The required schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including every other weekend. The starting rate is $18.50 per hour. The Patient Transporter escorts and transports patients to designated areas within the facility, assists with walking or wheelchair transport, and delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items. The role requires standing for long periods and may involve exposure to extreme cold and heat, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling loads up to 50 pounds. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to work well under time constraints.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform the duties while potentially exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Confirm the patient's name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other details in accordance with written or verbal instructions.
- Guide or escort incoming patients from the admitting office or reception desk to the designated area.
- Carry patients' luggage.
- Assist patients with walking to help prevent falls, or transport non-ambulatory patients by wheelchair.
- Transport patients, alone or with assistance, in a bed, wheeled cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within the facility during their stay.
- Deliver messages, mail, medical records, and other items.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
