About The Position

The Patient Transport Dispatcher coordinates and plans the timely movement of patients, medications, specimens, and equipment across Henry Ford Health facilities. This role supports patient care teams and helps maintain the flow of critical resources and services within the hospital. The position is based at Henry Ford Health's Jackson hospital campus and is part of a close-knit, community-focused team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Approximately one year of previous hospital work experience.
• Basic CPR certification completed during orientation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Analytical ability to schedule workflows and resolve issues.

• Experience in patient transport or healthcare logistics.
• Familiarity with hospital operations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and plan the efficient, timely movement of patients, medications, specimens, and equipment.
• Document department productivity and resolve issues as they arise.
• Communicate detailed instructions and procedures related to patient transportation.
• Use proper body mechanics and transfer techniques to lift, transfer, and transport patients when needed.
