About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time Patient Services Specialist in our thriving Center for Advanced Surgery-East Clinic, located in Northeast Portland. This role is phone-based and focuses on providing patients and stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience, ensuring patients receive the highest value care tailored to their needs. The position requires excellent customer service and communication skills to manage physician scheduling, patient appointments, and surgeries, as well as handling insurance information, referrals, and updating EMR records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in Surgery or other complex scheduling is required.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) EPIC experience is required.
  • Familiarity with insurance and referral processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience, preferably in a medical office, is strongly preferred.
  • Specialty care Center for Advanced Surgery experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Properly scheduling/rescheduling patients’ appointments and/or surgeries according to all office protocols and physician requests in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Obtaining and completing insurance information.
  • Answering phones on multi-line system.
  • Processing of incoming referrals and electronic fax submissions.
  • Obtaining imaging studies and other critical reports as needed.
  • Updating registration and EMR records as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
