About The Position
Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time Patient Services Specialist in our Gastroenterology East Clinics in Happy Valley and Northeast Portland. This role is crucial in ensuring patients receive the highest value care tailored to their needs by providing a consistent, efficient, and easy experience for patients and stakeholders. The position is currently phone-based but may require in-office scheduling and is very high volume, demanding excellent customer service and communication skills.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience, preferably in a medical office is strongly preferred.
- Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
- Familiarity with insurance and referral processes.
- Excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians and other team members.
- A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
Nice To Haves
- Specialty care GI experience is a plus!
- Epic experience is a super plus!
Responsibilities
- Scheduling appointments for new and established patients in an efficient and timely manner.
- Obtaining and completing insurance information.
- Answering phones.
- Providing coverage for medical records and front desk teams.
- Updating records as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
