About The Position

UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a full-time Patient Services Representative to support its office in Butler. The role helps patients navigate their healthcare experience by assisting with check-in, scheduling, providing instructions, and connecting patients to services and financial resources. It also includes insurance verification, consent collection, patient registration, and general administrative duties while following HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with personal computer-based applications and various office equipment, and proficient typing skills.
• Two years of experience in a medical, billing, fiscal, or customer service role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with check-in.
• Collect copayments and update patient information.
• Arrange follow-up appointments and connect patients to services.
• Help patients navigate the healthcare system and provide clear instructions.
• Register patients in Biometrics and promote the MyUPMC portal.
• Educate patients about financial responsibilities and connect them to resources.
• Verify insurance, obtain consent signatures, and follow HIPAA regulations.
• Handle phone calls, scan records, and perform office duties.
