About The Position
The Patient Services Associate (PSA) II enhances the patient and customer experience by courteously and professionally processing arrival and departure activities associated with visits to the practice or department. The role obtains pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures and verifies insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information. The PSA II supports the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous treatment of patients and visitors and maintaining an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to communicate courteously with patients and/or visitors.
- Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors.
- Ability to process and interpret data.
- Ability to multitask while managing a time-sensitive workload.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Processes check-in and/or check-out, point-of-service activities, and/or patient appointment scheduling via EPIC.
- Obtains pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures.
- Maintains efficient practice flow and escalates patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
- Greets and interacts with patients and visitors professionally, by phone or in person.
- Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
