About The Position

Dignity Health's Outpatient Center is hiring a full-time Patient Service Specialist for its front desk. The position is based at 8675 West Rome Blvd, Durango Beltway Plaza, Las Vegas, NV 89149. The role provides front-desk support and patient service, including appointment scheduling, check-in, insurance-related tasks, payment collection, billing support, and communication with clinic staff and supporting departments. The stated work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon. Some Saturdays are required. The hourly pay range is $18.50 to $22.00, based on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Customer service experience.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a workday or shift.
Manual dexterity for typing, including 10-key, throughout a workday or shift.
Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds from ground to waist using proper body mechanics.
Ability to carry office supplies weighing up to 10 pounds.
Near and distant visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions.
Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of insurance verification.
Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration experience.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service to create a positive patient experience.
Answer phone calls.
Use medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments.
Verify insurance and handle referrals and pre-authorizations.
Schedule patient appointments and check patients in on arrival.
Collect co-pays.
Perform daily cash balancing and make weekly banking deposits.
Complete patient intake and data entry to support proper billing.
Complete daily billing reports and work with the central billing office (CBO).
Communicate and collaborate with clinic staff and supporting departments to provide a seamless experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
