About The Position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The role supports a positive, seamless patient experience by managing front desk operations and workflows. This position is in the Primary Care department at Mercy Hospital Perry in Perryville, Missouri, and is full-time, day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
• Excellent customer service skills, including empathy, a patient-focused approach, and the ability to handle inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy.
• Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when entering patient information, scheduling appointments, and processing documentation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow privacy policies and procedures.
• Ability to adapt and work effectively under pressure while handling unexpected situations professionally and calmly.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Nice To Haves

• One year of applicable medical office experience.
