Patient Service Representative II, Full Time - Days
About The Position
The Patient Service Representative II (PSR II), following established practices, policies, and guidelines, provides clerical and administrative support while handling a high volume of patient coordination and complex scheduling in the licensed clinics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The PSR II is cross-trained to cover multiple providers and serves as a resource. The role includes answering and triaging calls, scheduling appointments and services, managing authorizations, verifying insurance, processing referrals, and handling mail and patient information in compliance with HIPAA and Cedars-Sinai standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience working with insurance companies and obtaining authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Answer and triage calls, directing them to appropriate individuals or departments.
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, and ancillary services and obtain authorizations.
- Perform insurance verification functions.
- Process and track incoming and outgoing referrals.
- Sort and distribute mail and patient information in compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations and Cedars-Sinai standards.
- Assist with all work assignments.
