About The Position

American Health Imaging, a Lumexa Imaging partner, is hiring an entry-level Patient Service Representative for its Homewood, Alabama location. The role supports patients and the medical office through scheduling, check-in and check-out, insurance and authorization processes, phone support, and patient-record administration. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The organization describes its outpatient centers as providing high-quality diagnostic imaging in a welcoming, compassionate environment, with an emphasis on collaboration, excellence, and patient care.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience in a medical office setting or hospital.
• Ability to handle heavy patient volume.
• Strong customer service and computer skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Experience with authorizations and insurance verification.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for diagnostic exams and procedures.
• Assist with authorizations and verifications.
• Check patients in and out.
• Answer multiple phone lines.
• Provide accurate and complete information to the billing office.
• Verify insurance.
• Ensure accuracy of patient data entered into the system.
• Process requests and file patient records.
