About The Position

Granger Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for a full-time Patient Services Representative in its Murray Urology clinic. The ideal candidate is confident, self-motivated, and compassionate. Patient Service Representatives work closely with patients, physicians, and support staff to provide care. As the first point of contact for patients, receptionists need excellent communication and customer service skills.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves greeting patients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, communicating with physicians, clinic staff, and patients, and recording demographic information needed to contact patients or bill insurance carriers. Other duties may be assigned.

This is sedentary work that requires lifting up to 10 pounds and repetitive motion from operating a computer and other office equipment. Work takes place indoors in climate-controlled conditions. Granger Medical Clinic offers competitive wages and benefits.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Typing/keyboarding skills.
• Must be a team player and enjoy working with people.
• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Additional languages are helpful.
• Previous medical billing or office experience is preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients presenting for medical or other services in a courteous manner.
• Answer telephones in a professional manner.
• Schedule appointments in accordance with established procedures.
• Communicate professionally, verbally and in writing, with physicians, clinic staff, and patients about appointment scheduling and other needs.
• Record demographic information necessary to contact patients and/or bill insurance carriers for services provided.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
