About The Position

The Patient Safety Coordinator is an RN responsible for facilitating root cause analyses related to adverse patient events and conducting proactive assessments of high-risk processes. The role also assists with studies related to clinical quality improvement. The program is designed to protect the overall health of patients, families, visitors, staff (paid or volunteer), and physicians who visit or work at CoxHealth locations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• At least 2 years of experience as a registered nurse.
• Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
• Communication and leadership skills.
• Data abstraction and electronic medical record navigation skills.
• Regulatory and quality improvement project management skills.
• Instruction and education skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare practices, patient care, and public reporting practices.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related healthcare field.
• 1 year of experience in management, education, or process improvement.
• Certified Professional in Patient Safety.
